  2. You need ½ of Onion chopped medium sized onion
  3. You need -¼ tspoon of Mustard seed
  4. Prepare -½ cup of Grated coconut
  5. Prepare 1 pinch of Turmeric powder
  6. It’s ¼ tspoon of Uzhunnu balls/urad dal -
  7. Prepare -3 of Red chilli
  8. Prepare 1 sprig of Curry leaves -
  9. It’s to taste of Salt -
  10. It’s ½ tspoon of Chopped green chilli -
  11. It’s -2 piece of Garlic chopped
  12. It’s 1 pinch of Cumin seed
  13. It’s 1 pinch of Red chilli powder

Step to make Cabbage thoran (Kerala style):
  1. Crush the grated coconut with turmeric powder, a pinch of chilli powder, garlic and cumin seed Keep aside
  2. In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seed Add the urad dal and roa
  3. To it add the red chilli and the curry leave
  4. Add the chopped onion and green chilli and saute well. Add salt to taste.
  5. Once the onion is sauted, add the shredded cabbage and saute.
  6. After 2 minutes add the crushed coconut mixture and and combine everything.
  7. Cover the pan on low flame for about 6 minute The cabbage will be cooked by this time
  8. Open the lid and saute for another 3 minutes so that the cabbage thoran will be dry.
  9. Serve with hot rice.
