The Ingredients needed to make Sambhar Kerala style:
  1. You need 1 bowl of Arhar daal
  2. Prepare 2 bowl of water
  3. It’s 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder
  4. You need To taste of salt
  5. You need 4 pieces of pumpkin (cut lengthwise)
  6. You need 6 of baby onions
  7. You need 1 of carrot
  8. Prepare 1 of tomato
  9. Prepare 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds
  10. It’s 6-8 of curry leaves
  11. Prepare 2 of Dry whole red chilli
  12. Prepare 2 tbsp of coconut oil
  13. You need 1 pinch of asafoetida
  14. It’s 1 bowl of water
  15. It’s 1 bowl of tamarind
Step to make Sambhar Kerala style:
  1. Wash and Soak arhar Daal for 15 minute
  2. Now put arhar Daal in pressure cooker with salt, turmeric powder and 2 bowls of Pressure cook till three whistle Switch off the flame. Let pressure releases automatically.
  3. In the meanwhile chop and wash pumpkin and cut it in small piece Boil it in a pan in one bowl of Keep aside.
  4. Heat oil in a karahi and put mustard seeds and when mustard seeds splutter add curry leaves, asafetida and dry whole red chilli. Sauté for 30 second Add whole baby onion, tomato, carrot, tamarind Ball, salt and turmeric powder. Cook for 5 minute
  5. Now add pumpkin with water and cooked arhar Daal in it and stir. Cook it for 2-3 minute Add sambhar masala.
  6. Serve hot with idli, rice or dosa.
