The Ingredients needed to make Indian Masala Dal Rice:
- It’s 1 cup of Rice
- Prepare 3/4 cup of Toor Dal
- It’s 1 of Onion
- Prepare 2 of chopped Ginger piece grated
- It’s 5-6 of Garlic cloves grated
- It’s 1 of Tomato medium chopped
- It’s 2 cup of Brinjal and potato cubed
- You need 2 of Green Chillies broken
- Prepare 1/2 teaspoon of Cumin Seeds
- Prepare 1/2 teaspoon of Turmeric Powder
- It’s 1 teaspoon of Red Chilli Powder
- Prepare 3 tablespoons of Ghee (Butter)
- You need to taste of Salt
- Prepare 1 teaspoon of Garam masala
Step to make Indian Masala Dal Rice:
- Clean, wash and soak the rice and dal in water for 15 min before cooking. Drain and keep aside.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of ghee in a pressure cooker. Add the cumin seeds, When the seeds crackle, add ginger, garlic and onion Saute for 2-3 minute Now, add brinjal and potato and saute for 4-5 minute Add salt to taste, turmeric powder, half the garam masala and red chilli powder. Mix well.
- Add soaked rice and dal and mix. Add 4 cups of water and broken green chillies and mix well. Pressure cook for 5 whistle
- Serve hot with natural yogurt, papad or potato chips and any pickle.
