The Ingredients needed to make Japanese Candied Sweet Potato:
- It’s 300 g of Satumaimo
- You need 100 g of Sugar
- It’s 1 Table Spoon of Water
Step to make Japanese Candied Sweet Potato:
- Wash Satumaimo well, and cut into big bite sizes, then soak in water for 5 minutes to release excess starch.
- Dry Satumaimo on Kitchen towel.
- Heat oil for deep fry to 180℃ (350℉), then fry Satumaimo until its golden brown.
- Put sugar and water to a pan, and heat over medium low hea until it melt
- Turn the heat to low, and cook until its slightly brown, then turn off the heat ※The sugar gets REALLY HOT! So, please be careful.
- Add fried Satumaimo to 5, and coat each with melted sugar, then place each on parchment paper separately until the coating is cooled. And served!
