The Ingredients needed to make Japanese Candied Sweet Potato:
  1. Prepare 300 g of Satumaimo
  2. You need 100 g of Sugar
  3. It’s 1 Table Spoon of Water
Step to make Japanese Candied Sweet Potato:
  1. Wash Satumaimo well, and cut into big bite sizes, then soak in water for 5 minutes to release excess starch.
  2. Dry Satumaimo on Kitchen towel.
  3. Heat oil for deep fry to 180℃ (350℉), then fry Satumaimo until its golden brown.
  4. Put sugar and water to a pan, and heat over medium low hea until it melt
  5. Turn the heat to low, and cook until its slightly brown, then turn off the heat ※The sugar gets REALLY HOT! So, please be careful.
  6. Add fried Satumaimo to 5, and coat each with melted sugar, then place each on parchment paper separately until the coating is cooled. And served!
