The Ingredients needed to make Masoor Dal Shorba:
  1. You need 1/2 cup of masoor dal (red lentils), soaked for 30 minutes
  2. Prepare 1 tbsp. of oats
  3. You need 1 tbsp. of olive oil
  4. You need 1-2 of bay leaves
  5. It’s 1 of cinnamon stick
  6. You need 1 of onion, sliced
  7. It’s 2-3 of garlic cloves, chopped
  8. It’s 1 of ginger, chopped
  9. It’s 1 of green chilli, chopped
  10. Prepare 1 of tomato, chopped
  11. You need 1/2 tsp of roasted cumin powder
  12. You need 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder
  13. You need to taste of salt
  14. Prepare 1 tsp of coriander leaves to garnish
Step to make Masoor Dal Shorba:
  1. Heat oil and temper with bay leaves, cinnamon, onion, ginger, green chilli and garlic. Saute till the onions are translucent.
  2. Add the tomatoes and all the dry spice Stir fry for 2 minute
  3. Now add the masoor dal and oat Saute for 2 minutes more.
  4. Add 1 1/2 cups water and pressure cook for 3-4 whistle
  5. When cool, discard the bay leaves and blend into a puree. Heat through and serve, garnished with coriander leave
