A quick, tasty and simple snack made with wheat flour, banana and jaggery. I always thought its too complicated and tedious to make Unniyappam at home.

The Ingredients need to make Kerala style Unniyappam:
  1. Prepare 200 grams of Raw Rice
  2. It’s 1 tsp of Maida
  3. It’s 200 ml of Melted and Filtered Jaggery
  4. You need Some of Coconut milk extracted from 1/2 coconut
  5. You need 25 grams of Black Seasame Seeds
  6. It’s as needed of Finely Chopped coconuts
  7. Prepare to taste of Cardamom
  8. It’s to taste of Dry Ginger Powder
  9. It’s Some of Coconut oil for frying

Step to make Kerala style Unniyappam:
  1. Soak raw rice for two hours and let it air dry for a while. Grind rice, jaggery, maida, cardamom, dry Ginger powder together with coconut milk adding as it is necessary.
  2. Let is sit for two hours, fry coconut chunks in oil along with sesame seeds and add to this mix just before frying. By then pour oil into appa Kadai and get cooking until golden brown in each side.
  3. Serve hot or at room temperature.
