The Ingredients need to make Gongura Pappu:
  1. Prepare 1/2 cup of tuvar dal (pigeon pea lentil), soaked for 30 minutes
  2. You need 2-3 cups of gongura (sorrel) leaves, chopped
  3. You need to taste of salt
  4. You need 1 tsp. of turmeric powder
  5. You need 2 of green chilies, chopped
  6. It’s 1 of onion, sliced
  7. It’s 1 of ginger, sliced
  8. Prepare 1 of tomato, chopped (opt)
  9. You need 1-2 tbsp. of oil
  10. You need 2-3 of whole dry red chilies
  11. You need 1/2 tsp. of mustard seeds
  12. You need 1/2 tsp. of cumin seeds
  13. Prepare 1 tsp. of urad dal (split black gram)
  14. You need 3 of garlic cloves, chopped
  15. You need 1 sprig of curry leaves
  16. Prepare 1 tsp. of coriander leaves, chopped
Step to make Gongura Pappu:
  1. Pick only the leave Wash well and drain.
  2. Pressure cook the lentils, greens, salt, turmeric powder, onion, green chilies, ginger and tomatoes for 5-6 whistle
  3. Mash them slightly and keep aside.
  4. Heat oil in a pan temper with dry red chilies, mustard seeds cumin seed After it stops spluttering, add the garlic, urad dal curry leave Saute for some time and pour this tempering over the prepared dal.
  5. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with plain steamed rice.
