The Ingredients need to make Gongura Pappu:
  1. You need 1/2 cup of tuvar dal (pigeon pea lentil), soaked for 30 minutes
  2. It’s 2-3 cups of gongura (sorrel) leaves, chopped
  3. Prepare to taste of salt
  4. Prepare 1 tsp. of turmeric powder
  5. You need 2 of green chilies, chopped
  6. You need 1 of onion, sliced
  7. You need 1 of ginger, sliced
  8. It’s 1 of tomato, chopped (opt)
  9. It’s 1-2 tbsp. of oil
  10. You need 2-3 of whole dry red chilies
  11. Prepare 1/2 tsp. of mustard seeds
  12. You need 1/2 tsp. of cumin seeds
  13. You need 1 tsp. of urad dal (split black gram)
  14. Prepare 3 of garlic cloves, chopped
  15. It’s 1 sprig of curry leaves
  16. Prepare 1 tsp. of coriander leaves, chopped
Step to make Gongura Pappu:
  1. Pick only the leave Wash well and drain.
  2. Pressure cook the lentils, greens, salt, turmeric powder, onion, green chilies, ginger and tomatoes for 5-6 whistle
  3. Mash them slightly and keep aside.
  4. Heat oil in a pan temper with dry red chilies, mustard seeds cumin seed After it stops spluttering, add the garlic, urad dal curry leave Saute for some time and pour this tempering over the prepared dal.
  5. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with plain steamed rice.
