In todays episode of Wok Wednesday, Jeremy teaches us how to make a Vietnamese street food classic: Bánh Xèo! Full of fresh herbs and vegetables, thi Bánh xèo [ɓǎjŋ̟ sɛ̂w] is a crispy, stuffed rice pancake popular in Vietnam.

The Ingredients needed to make Vietnamese pancake (bánh xèo):
  1. It’s of Cake flour
  2. It’s 500 g of rice flour
  3. You need 1 liter of water
  4. It’s 4 of eggs
  5. It’s 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  6. You need 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  7. Prepare 100 g of green onion sliced thinly
  8. Prepare of The pancake filling
  9. Prepare 200 g of fresh shrimp
  10. You need 200 g of beef
  11. Prepare 200 g of squid
  12. You need 1 of onion sliced thinly
  13. It’s 100 g of bean sprouts
  14. Prepare of The sauce, other ingredients
  15. You need 4 teaspoons of fish sauce, 4 chili, garlic, 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  16. It’s 2 teaspoon of sugar, 1/2 MSG
  17. You need of Lecttuce, rice paper

The name refers to the loud sound the rice batter makes when it is poured into the hot skillet. Banh xeo are savoury Vietnamese pancakes, filled with pork and prawn The name refers to the sizzling sound the batter makes while cooking. Fold one half of the pancake over the ingredients and slip onto serving plate.

Step to make Vietnamese pancake (bánh xèo):
  1. Mix the Pour all ingredidents in Cake flour section into a large bowl and stir well and make sure they dont clot.
