The Ingredients need to make Low Fat Dal Makhani:
- It’s 1/2 cup of urad dal
- You need 2 tbsp of rajma
- Prepare 1 tsp of salt
- You need 1 tbsp of ghee
- You need 1 tbsp of butter
- You need 1 tsp of cumin seeds
- You need 2 of green chillies (slited)
- Prepare 1/2 inch of cinnamon
- It’s 2 of cloves
- It’s 1 of bay leaf
- Prepare 1 of black cardamom
- You need 2 of green cardamoms
- You need 1/2 cup of onion (finely chopped)
- It’s 1 tbsp of ginger-garlic paste
- It’s 1 tsp of chilli powder
- Prepare 1 tsp of coriander powder
- You need 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder
- It’s 1 cup of tomato puree
- Prepare 1/4 cup of milk
- Prepare 1/4 cup of curd
- You need 1 tsp of jaggery
- It’s 2 tbsp of chopped coriander
Step to make Low Fat Dal Makhani:
- Clean, wash and soak the whole urad and rajma overnight.
- Drain and pressure cook the dal with 2 cups water and 1/2 tsp salt for 10 to 12 whistles or till the dals are overcooked.
- Once the pressure cools down to open the cooker and mash the dal, keep aside.
Heat ghee in a pan and add the cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves, cardamoms, and bay leaf and let them splutter.
- Add the green chilies, onions and saute till the onions turn golden brown.
Add ginger-garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes away.
- Add tomato puree and sugar and cook for 5 mins or till oil separate
Add chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder, and salt and saute until it starts sticking to the bottom of the pan.
- Add curd and cook till the oil separates for around 2 min
Add the dal and water if required and simmer for 10 to 15 minute
