The Ingredients needed to make Chicken Biryani:
- It’s 1 1/2 kg of chicken
- It’s 1 kg of rice
- Prepare 4 tbls of biryani masala
- It’s 2 of large onions
- Prepare 4 of medium tomatoes
- It’s 1 cup of yoghurt
- Prepare 1/4 cup of lemon juice
- Prepare 2 tbls of chopped green chillies
- You need 1 cup of oil
- It’s of Water as required
- It’s 2 of cinnamon sticks
- It’s 4 of green cardamom
- It’s 2 of black cardamom
- It’s 1 tsp of whole black pepper
- You need 1 tsp of cumin seeds
- You need 1 tsp of jaifal jalwitri powder
- You need 2 tbls of salt
- It’s 1/2 tbls of garam masala
- Prepare 4 of green chillies halves
- It’s 2 of lemon wedges
- Prepare 2 tbls of fresh mint leaves
- It’s of Yellow food colour
- It’s 1/4 cup of milk
Step to make Chicken Biryani:
- Wash and soak rice for half an hour before boiling. Wash chicken and put them in to bowl.
- Peel and cut onions in thin slice Heat up oil and fry onions in oil till brown.
- Marinate chicken with yoghurt, biryani masala, green chillies, lemon juice and brown onion Mix and marinate the chicken for an hour approximately.
- Add water in large pateela, add salt, green cardamom, black cardamom, cinnamon sticks, cumin seeds and black whole pepper simmer the water and add soaked rice.
- Cook rice till ¾ done. Strains the water from rice and set aside.
- In a wok which we used to fry onion Add chopped tomatoes cook for a minute then add marinated chicken.
- Cook chicken till done. Gravy is not to be thick or nor to be thin.
- First add half rice in the pateela and put all the chicken with gravy in on the rice then again spread remaining rice all
- At last add lemon wedges, green chillies halves, fresh mint leaves and sprinkle garam masala over the rice.
- Sprinkle yellow food colour and pour milk on the colour. Give dum for at least 20 minutes or till done.
- Delicious Chicken Biryani is ready to serve with mint Raita.
