The Ingredients needed to make Beef Tongseng:
  1. You need 400 gr of brisket, cut into bite size
  2. It’s 6 of small tomatoes or 2 medium tomatoes
  3. You need 5 of cabbage leaves, roughly cut some bird eye chili peppers (to taste-optional)
  4. It’s 2 of green onions, cut 1 inch
  5. You need 1 Tbsp of curry powder
  6. You need 2 of lemongrass, bruised
  7. You need 3-4 of kaffir lime leaves
  8. It’s 2 Tbsp of vegetable oil
  9. Prepare 350 ml of water
  10. You need 1 Tbsp of salt or to taste
  11. It’s 1/2 tsp of white pepper powder or to taste
  12. You need 1/2 tsp of sugar
  13. You need 1/2 tsp of beef bouillon
  14. It’s 2-3 Tbsp of sweet soy sauce
  15. It’s of fried shallots for garnish
  16. Prepare of Ground spices
  17. Prepare 4 cloves of garlic
  18. It’s 6 cloves of shallots
  19. It’s 6 of red chili peppers
  20. Prepare 3 of bird eye chili peppers (optional)
  21. You need 1 inch of ginger
  22. You need 3 of nutmeg
Step to make Beef Tongseng:
  1. Heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Sauté ground spices, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves until fragrant. Add curry powder. Mix well.
  2. Add beef. Cook until the meat change color. Remove from the heat.
  3. Place the meat in a slow cooker. Add water, salt, sugar, white pepper powder, and beef bouillon. Cover the pot. Cook on high for 4 hour
  4. Add cabbage, tomatoes, green onions, bird eye chili peppers (if you use some), and sweet soy sauce. Cook again for 15 minute Remove the pot.
  5. Serve immediately over steamed with rice and garnish with fried shallots! Yum 😋
