The Ingredients need to make Steamed Kerala Banana Dessert:
  1. It’s 2 of large or 3 medium Kerala Banana (Nenthrapazham)
  2. Prepare 2 of large pcs of jaggery
  3. It’s 1/2 tsp of elaichi powder (optional)
  4. You need 2 tsp of ghee
Step to make Steamed Kerala Banana Dessert:
  1. Cut both the head and tail of the banana and then cut it into half. Do not peel the banana skin. Make sure the bananas are ripe and sweet.
  2. Steam the bananas till soft using a steamer or idli-maker.
  3. Let it cool for 2 minute Peel off the skin and cut into round disc
  4. In a pan, add jaggery and 2-3 tsp of water and let it melt completely. Strain the syrup to remove any impuritie
  5. Pure it back into the pan and add the banana pieces, elaichi powder and 1 tsp ghee. Let it cook on medium flame till the syrup coats the banana well.
  6. Transfer to a serving dish. Pour the remaining 1 tsp ghee and mix. Garnish with sliced pistachios or almonds (optional). Serve hot!
