The Ingredients need to make Indonesian Sweet Satay:
- It’s 500 grams of Chicken Fillet (Breast / Thigh)
- It’s 2 Tbsp of Peanut Butter
- It’s 3 Tbsp of Sweet Soya Sauce
- Prepare 1 Tsp of Tamarind Paste
- You need 2 Tbsp of Cooking Oil
- Prepare 1 Tsp of Galangal Powder
- Prepare Half of Onion
- It’s 4 cloves of Garlic
- It’s 1/4 Tsp of Cumin Powder
- Prepare 1 Tsp of Salt
- Prepare 3 Tbsp of Sugar
- Prepare 1/2 Tsp of Pepper
- Prepare 1 Tbsp of Coriander Powder
Step to make Indonesian Sweet Satay:
- Cubed the Chicken meat, set aside
- Galangal is a plant in the ginger family, used as an herb in Southeast Asian cookery, with the common names lengkuas, grated galangal, and blue ginger. In South Africa, you can get it dried or powder. Mostly Chinese Supermarket will sell this product, or in Woolworth
- Tamarind is a tropical fruit used as an additive flavor in cooking, tamarind is high in tartaric acid which adds a tart, sweet, or sour taste to dishes or drink As usual for Asian Ingredients you can get it in Chinese Supermarket.
- For onion and garlic you can use mortar and pestle to transform into paste.
- Put all ingredients in a bowl and mix it well.
- Once all ingredients mixed well. Then put the chicken meat into marinate, then set aside or put in the fridge to marinate it for 2 hour
- Put the chicken meat on the satay stick, then put on the braai or on the stove (as in the picture)
- Chicken sweet satay is ready to eat!
