The Ingredients need to make Thai Basil Beef:
  1. You need of Lemongrass Rice
  2. Prepare of Jasmine rice
  3. Prepare of Coconut milk
  4. It’s of Water
  5. Prepare of Sesame oil
  6. Prepare of Fresh lemongrass
  7. Prepare of Thai Basil Beef
  8. You need of large carrots, cut into matchsticks
  9. It’s of baby bell peppers, sliced
  10. You need of red Chili, sliced
  11. It’s of spring onions, chopped
  12. You need of fish sauce
  13. You need of Honey
  14. It’s of Sesame oil
  15. Prepare of lime, juiced
  16. Prepare of lime, sliced
  17. It’s of garlic, minced or grated
  18. You need of Fresh ginger, grated
  19. It’s of Lean ground beef
  20. It’s of 2 Tbsp. Soy sauce, divided
  21. It’s of Sweet Thai Chili sauce
  22. It’s of Fresh basil
  23. You need of Toasted Sesame seeds for serving
  24. You need of Chopped roasted peanuts for serving
  25. Prepare of Butter leaf lettuce
Step to make Thai Basil Beef:
  1. To make the rice add coconut milk and water to medium size pot. Bring to a low boil and then add the rice, Sesame oil, and lemongras Stir to combine and then place lid on the pot and turn down the heat to low. After w0 minutes take the rice off the heat and then let sit, covered for 15-20 minute Do not open lid during this time.
  2. After 15-20 minutes remove lid and fluff with a fork and stir in chopped peanuts if desired.
  3. While the rice is cooking make the beef mixture. Add the carrots, peppers, hot red pepper, green onions, fish sauce, honey, lime juice and 2 Tbsp Soy sauce to a medium bowl. Combine and set aside.
  4. Heat a large heavy bottomed skillet or wok. Add the oil and once hot add the garlic and ginger. Cook 15-30 seconds and then add the beef.
  5. Add pepper and cook until browned. And 1/3 C. Soy sauce, 1/3 C. Sweet Thai Chili Sauce, and 1 C. fresh Basil.
  6. Bring to a simmer and cook 3-5 Remove from heat and stir in remaining 1C. fresh Basil.
  7. Place butter leaves on plates and top with rice and then beef. Add thepepper and carrots mixture. Garnish with chopped peanuts, fresh Basil and Sesame seeds if desired. Enjoy!
