The Ingredients need to make Cottage Pie:
  1. You need of meat mixture
  2. It’s 1 tbsp of butter
  3. You need 1 tbsp of olive oil, extra virgin
  4. Prepare 1 lb of ground beef
  5. It’s 1 cup of onion, chopped
  6. Prepare 2 tbsp of garlic, minced
  7. It’s 1 1/2 tbsp of dry rosemary
  8. You need of salt
  9. It’s 1 tbsp of ground cumin
  10. You need 4 tsp of worcestershire sauce
  11. It’s 1 tbsp of ketchup
  12. It’s 1 tsp of cayenne pepper
  13. You need 1/3 cup of all-purpose flour
  14. You need 1 1/2 cup of beef broth
  15. You need 1 cup of frozen peas
  16. It’s 1 cup of frozen carrots
  17. It’s of potato topping
  18. You need 6 of medium purple potatoes
  19. It’s 1 tbsp of butter
  20. You need 1/3 cup of heavy cream
  21. You need 1/2 cup of pepper jack cheese
  22. Prepare 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese
  23. You need 1 of egg, beaten
  24. Prepare of salt
Step to make Cottage Pie:
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a deep sauce pan add in butter and oil on medium heat.
  3. Add in the onions, garlic, and beef, and saute for 10 minutes until beef is cooked through.
  4. Add in flour and mix; the flour will absorb the extra moisture to create a gravy later.
  5. Cook for another 3-4 minutes to cook off the flours raw edge and add in the below seasoning ingredient
  6. Add in broth, cook and stir until sauce has thicken (about 5 minutes).
  7. Stir in frozen veggies, and remove from heat.
  8. Add meat and veggie filling into a baking dish… Be sure to flatten your meat mixture in the dish.
  9. Meanwhile boil your potatoes until fork tender.
  10. Then add in butter, heavy cream, cheese, seasoning, egg yoke. Mash and mix well.
  11. Using a large spoon, place dollops of potatoes over your meat filling, then using a fork, gently spread potatoes evenly across the meat filling. Doing it this way will help from pulling the meat up mixing it into the potato cru
  12. Bake in oven for 30 minutes until the sides have brown.
  13. Remove baking dish from oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
