Prawn Pollichathu is another one of Malabars iconic prawn recipes that combine prawns and curry. Not only are prawns the centerpiece of this but the spices also serve as excellent complement The curry is smooth and has a rich creaminess of its own.

The Ingredients needed to make Prawn Pollichathu (Prawn cooked in Plantain leaf):

1. You need 500 gm of Prawns
2. It’s 1 tsp of chilli powder
3. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Turmeric
4. You need 1 tsp of coriander powder
5. You need 1 tsp of cumin powder
6. Prepare 1 tsp of Garam Masala
7. It’s to taste of salt
8. It’s 1 of big tomato
9. Prepare 1 of big onion sliced

Prawns pollichathu gives out the perfect combo of seafood delicacy and the authentic taste of Kerala spice Then add coconut milk to it and cook until the gravy reduces to semi dry consistency. 3. In same pan add some more oily then add onion sauté well add ginger-garlic crushed cook till raw smell goe Then add all the dry spices cook while and add tomato cook well.
4. Now add the prawns and mix well till all the spices gets into it cook for while it should look thick gravy now add coconut milk and adjust salt. Cook till the milk is drained completely.
5. Once done add some more curry leaves and cover and remove from heat. Once it’s cool down a bit Clean the plantain leaf and add the prawns masala to it wrap it really well.
6. In a pan add some oil put this plantain leaf in low flame and cook both side till color change and it’s done.
