The Ingredients needed to make My Familys Easy Simmered Amberjack Daikon Radish:
  1. It’s 2 of pieces Amberjack (buri)
  2. Prepare 1/3 of Daikon radish
  3. Prepare 1 of knob Ginger (julienned)
  4. You need 300 ml of Water
  5. You need 50 ml of Sake
  6. It’s 2 tbsp of Soy sauce
  7. Prepare 1 tbsp of Mirin
  8. You need 1 1/2 tbsp of Soft light brown sugar
  9. It’s 1 of Sesame oil
Step to make My Familys Easy Simmered Amberjack Daikon Radish:
  1. Cut the daikon radish into chunks and parboil in water that has been used to wash rice, then drain. Cut the amberjack in half (if it is large, cut it into 3 equal pieces).
  2. Pour the sesame oil into a frying pan. Cook the amberjack lightly on both side Add the sake and bring to a simmer, then add the ginger.
  3. Add the daikon radish from Step 1 to the frying pan from Step 2. Add the water, sugar, and mirin and simmer for 15 minutes over low heat.
  4. Add the soy sauce and cover with an otoshibuta (dropped lid). Simmer over low heat until the liquid is gone.
  5. Arrange on a dish and top with ginger.
