The Ingredients need to make Drumstick Leaves Dal:
  1. You need 1/2 cup of tuvar dal (pigeon pea lentil), soaked for 30 minutes
  2. You need 1 cup of (tightly packed) drumstick leaves
  3. You need 1 of tomato, roughly chopped
  4. You need 2-3 of green chilies
  5. You need 2 tbsp. of oil
  6. Prepare 2-3 of dry red chilies, broken
  7. Prepare 1/2 tsp. of mustard seeds
  8. You need 1/2 tsp. of cumin seeds
  9. It’s 1 sprig of curry leaves
  10. You need 5-6 of garlic, chopped / crushed
  11. Prepare 1/2 tsp. of turmeric powder
  12. You need to taste of salt
  13. It’s 1 tsp. of tamarind paste
Step to make Drumstick Leaves Dal:
  1. Pressure cook the soaked dal, drumstick leaves, tomatoes green chilies with 1 1/2 cups water for 4-5 whistle Mash slightly and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Temper with mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chilies, curry leaves and garlic. Saute till the garlic changes colour.
  3. Add turmeric powder and salt and give it a stir.
  4. Add the boiled dal tamarind paste. Simmer for 4-5 minute
  5. Serve with plain steamed rice.
