The Ingredients needed to make Spring Onion Dal:
- It’s 1/2 cup of tuvar dal (pigeon pea lentil), soaked for 30 minutes
- It’s 2-3 bunches of spring onion
- Prepare 2-3 tbsp. of oil
- Prepare 1 tsp. of mustard seeds
- Prepare 1/4 tsp. of asafoetida
- It’s 1 of onion, chopped
- It’s 1 of ginger, chopped
- You need 2-3 of garlic cloves, chopped
- Prepare 1 sprig of curry leaves
- Prepare to taste of salt
- It’s 1/2 tsp. of turmeric powder
- Prepare 1 tsp. of coriander powder
- You need 1 tbsp. of red chilli powder
- Prepare 1 tsp. of sambar powder
- You need 1 of tomato, chopped
- You need 1 tsp. of coriander leaves, chopped
Step to make Spring Onion Dal:
- Pressure cook the soaked lentils along with the chopped spring onion and turmeric powder in 1 1/2 cups water for 5-6 whistle
- Heat oil in a pan temper with mustard seed After it stops spluttering, add onion, curry leaves, ginger, garlic asafoetida. Saute till light brown.
- Add red chilli powder, sambar powder coriander powder. Mix everything well.
- Add the tomatoe Stir fry till it is mashed.
- Add the boiled dal and salt. Simmer on a low flame for 4-5 minute
- Serve, garnished with coriander leave
