Beef Kaldereta is a main stay in any Filipino Kitchen. It is a type of beef stew cooked with tomato sauce and liver spread. Some consider kaldereta as the Philippines most famous beef stew.

There are so many great Filipino stews and a couple of my favorites that Ive shared before include chicken. Beef Caldereta with beef cubes simmered to perfect tenderness in a spicy tomato sauce. Chockfull of potatoes, bell peppers, and green olives, this classic Filipino stew is hearty.

The Ingredients needed to make Beef Kaldereta:
  1. You need 2 lbs of beef cubed
  2. It’s 3 pieces of garlic cloves crushed and chopped
  3. You need 1 piece of onion finely chopped
  4. You need 2 cups of beef broth
  5. Prepare 1 piece of red bell pepper sliced
  6. It’s 1 piece of green bell pepper sliced
  7. Prepare 1 cup of tomato sauce
  8. Prepare 1/2 cup of liver spread processed using blender
  9. You need 1 teaspoon of chili flake
  10. It’s 3 pieces of dried bay leaves
  11. You need 2 cups of potatoes sliced
  12. Prepare 2 cups of carrots sliced
  13. It’s 1/4 cup of cooking oil
  14. You need 2/3 cup of green olives
  15. Prepare to taste of salt and pepper

But since it is rather difficult to come. Beef Kaldereta is a Filipino Beef Stew. It is prepared with a tomato-based sauce along with some vegetable Carrots, potato, bell peppers are commonly used.

Step to make Beef Kaldereta:
  1. Heat the cooking oil in the cooking pot or pressure cooker.
  2. Sauté the onion and garlic.
  3. Add the beef. Cook for 5 minutes or until the color turns light brown.
  4. Add the dried bay leaves and crushed pepper. Stir.
  5. Add the liver spread. Stir.
  6. Pour-in the tomato sauce and beef broth.
  7. Cook the beef until it becomes tender (about 30 mins if using a pressure cooker, or 1 to 2 hours if using an ordinary pot).
  8. Add potato and carrot Cook for 8 to 10 minute
  9. Put the green olives and bell peppers in the cooking pot. Stir and continue to cook for 5 minutes more.
  10. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot with steamed rice and enjoy
