Finest dates are used for the production of dates pickle. Ingredients: Dates (Eenthapazham), salt, chilli powder, mustard, asafoetida, vinegar, fenugreek and turmeric powder. The Ingredients needed to make Kerala style spicy dates pickle:
  1. You need 25 nos of Dates seedless and sliced
  2. Prepare 4 tbs of Refined oil
  3. It’s 1/4 tsp of Salt
  4. You need 1/4 tsp of Turmeric powder
  5. Prepare 2 tsp of Kashmiri chilli powder or more to make spicy
  6. You need 1/2 tsp of black pepper powder
  7. It’s 1/2 tsp of fenugreek powder
  8. It’s 1/2 tsp of Sugar if dates are too sweet you avoid this
  9. Prepare 1/1 tsp of Asofetida (Heeng) powder
  10. It’s 1/2 tsp each of Ginger garlic
  11. You need 1-2 of Green chilli chopped
  12. Prepare 10-12 leaves of Curry leaves
  13. Prepare 2 tbsp of Vinegar
  14. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Mustard seeds

If I say I love this pickle, it will be an understatement, because I can literally live on this pickle.   1. Heat the oil in a pan add mustard seed when spluttering add chopped green chilli ginger and garlic till raw smell goes off.add curry leaves sauté for one minute

  3. Add asofetida and fenugreek powder boil for a minute add vinegar and keep for 2 minutes
  4. Gravy should be little loose. After cool it would be be thick
  5. Enjoy with veg or non-veg biryani and pulao very yummy with biryani. In Kerala it is served with biryani in function and parties
