The Ingredients need to make Authentic Minced Pork Rice Lǔ Ròu Fàn (Taiwanese Style Miso Pork):
  1. Prepare 800 grams of Pork belly (block)
  2. You need 2 tbsp of Fried sliced shallots [The proper name is red onion flakes in Chinese]
  3. It’s 1 jar of Taiwanese-style Pickled Cucumbers
  4. It’s of Flavoring ingredients
  5. It’s 4 tbsp of Soy sauce
  6. It’s 40 grams of Crystal rock sugar
  7. It’s 2 tbsp of Cooking sake
  8. You need 1 dash of Pepper
  9. You need 1 dash of Chinese 5-spice powder
  10. Prepare 800 ml of Water

Add pork and continue to stir fry on medium heat until almost ready. Keep stir frying and add pork. Thai basil minced pork is one of my favorite Thai recipe Its such a simple dish but still full of flavor.

  3. Add the oil into a frying pan, then add in the fried shallots, then stir fry until aromatic.
  4. Add in the minced pork belly and stir fry.
  5. Next add in the finely chopped cucumbers and stir fry.
  6. Add in all of the seasonings, bring it to a boil and then cook on a low heat setting for a while.
  7. Once its cooked for about 40~50 minutes, the water has evaporated slightly, and it looks a bit glossy and shiny, its done!
  8. All you need to do is put it on some rice and your authentic lǔ ròu fàn (minced pork bowl) is ready.
  9. You can put it on top of some boiled veggies too. v(≧ )v.
  10. Its also great with thin udon! You just slurp it up and you wont be able to stop.
  11. These are the fried shallots that I used and they are sold in Japan! You can get these at a Chinese supermarket, the Chinese section of your supermarket or online!
  12. Fried shallots are finely chopped red onions fried in oil. The are called [Red onion flakes] and Ive seen them used in Taiwanese cooking.
