- It’s 1/3 cup of room temp butter
- You need 6 tbsp of ice water
Step to make Double Pie Crust, Flaky, and very good:
- Sift or fluff flour, add the salt and stir. Add the lard and butter in small chunks, mix together quickly until size of small pea Sprinkle ice water tablespoon by tablespoon over it.
- Quickly mix together until pulls from bowl. The trick is quick and do not over mix
- Separate into two balls
- Roll out on floured surface and lift using rolling pin.
- This is the perfect mix for yummy flaky piecru
- For apple pie I would brush with beaten egg and cover the edges for 20 minutes and bake uncovered the last twenty minutes
