The Ingredients needed to make Gingerbread Loaf:
  1. It’s 200 grams of caster sugar
  2. It’s 250 ml of full fat milk
  3. You need 3 tbsp of golden syrup
  4. Prepare 175 grams of butter
  5. It’s 1 tbsp of ground ginger
  6. You need 1 tsp of bicarbonate of soda
  7. You need 1 tsp of ground allspice
  8. Prepare 3 tbsp of crystallised ginger, optional
  9. It’s 250 grams of plain flour
Step to make Gingerbread Loaf:
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 c/ gas mark 4.
  2. Grease with butter and then flour approximately a 20 x 10 cm loaf tin.
  3. Then in a saucepan, combine the butter, milk, golden syrup and sugar. Bring to the boil, then remove from the heat and set aside.
  4. Sieve the flour, ground ginger, allspice and bicarbonate of soda in a medium to large bowl.
  5. Stir in the boiled mixture until just about blended.
  6. Then pour the batter into the prepared tin.
  7. Turn the oven down to 160c/ gas mark 2 1/2.
  8. Transfer and bake for approximately 1 hour or until the top loaf springs back when touched.
  9. When done remove from oven and let it cool in the loaf tin.
