The Ingredients need to make Gingerbread Biscuits:
  1. Prepare 250 g of plain flour
  2. Prepare 30 g of cocao
  3. You need 3/4 tsp of baking powder
  4. It’s Pinch of salt
  5. It’s 150 g of butter
  6. It’s 1 of thumb ginger root
  7. You need 2 tsp of ground ginger
  8. It’s 3 tsp of cinnamon
  9. Prepare 1/2 tsp of ground cloves
  10. It’s 1/2 tsp of nutmeg
  11. It’s 100 g of demarera sugar
  12. You need 25 g of maple syrup
  13. Prepare 1 of medium egg
Step to make Gingerbread Biscuits:
  1. Melt the butter in a pan and then add finely diced ginger root,sugar and syrup. Warm gently for a few minutes, then add remaining spice
  2. Remove from heat, allow to cool for 2-3 min and then beat in the egg.
  3. Sift together flour, cocao, baking powder and salt, and stir in to the butter mix.
  4. Roll the dough into a 5cm thick sausage and slice into 1cm disks
  5. Bake at 180°C for 15 minutes
