The Ingredients need to make Beef Bulgogi (불고기):
- Prepare of Marinade
- Prepare 6 tbsp of Japanese or Korean soy sauce
- Prepare 2 tbsp of mirin
- Prepare 2 tbsp of sugar (optional)
- Prepare 1/2 of Korean nashi pear or 1 small red apple
- Prepare 1/2 of onion (about 80 g)
- Prepare 3 of garlic cloves
- You need 1/4 tsp of freshly ground black pepper
- You need 1 tbsp of sesame oil
- You need of Main
- Prepare 1 kg of beef, sliced into thin (approx. 3 mm) slices
- You need 1 of onion, sliced
- You need 1 tbsp of toasted sesame seeds
- Prepare 1 tbsp of sesame oil
- Prepare 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
- It’s 1 of carrot, julienned (optional)
- You need 2 stalks of chopped scallions (optional)
Step to make Beef Bulgogi (불고기):
- Combine all marinade ingredients except the sesame oil in a blender. Puree until smooth. Pour marinade over beef and add sesame oil. Mix thoroughly, and let marinate for 4 hours at room temperature or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Set a skillet on medium high heat with both the vegetable and sesame oil until hot but not smoking. Fry the meat and vegetables for 3–5 minutes or until cooked to desired level of donenes Toss in sesame seeds and give a quick stir.
- Serve with steamed rice and Korean side dishes (e.g. kimchi).
