The Ingredients need to make Chicken biryani:
  1. You need 500 gms of Chicken
  2. It’s 3 cups of Basmati rice
  3. It’s 3 of Medium size onions
  4. You need 3 of Medium size tomatoes
  5. Prepare 4 of Green chillies
  6. Prepare Few of Mint Leaves
  7. Prepare Some of Coriander leaves
  8. It’s 1 of Lemon
  9. Prepare 3 tsp of Curd
  10. It’s 2 tbsp of Ginger garlic paste
  11. Prepare 3 sticks of Cinnamon
  12. It’s 4 of garlic
  13. You need 4 of Cardamons or elaichi
  14. You need 3 of Bay leaves
  15. Prepare 3 of Star anise
  16. Prepare 1 tsp of Fennel seeds
  17. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder
  18. It’s 1 tsp of Mixed chilli powder
  19. You need 1 tsp of Biryani masala
  20. You need 2 tbs of Ghee
  21. You need As needed of Oil
  22. It’s to taste of Salt

I had never made chicken biryani before I decided to share this recipe. Chicken Biryani is one of the more complicated rice dishes in Indian/pakistani cooking. Being quite an amateur cook I still managed to cook up a feast with this single dish and my hubby is still licking hi Making a chicken biryani is a lengthy.

Step to make Chicken biryani:
  1. Clean the chicken, wash well and keep aside
  2. Measure the rice, wash thoroughly and soak for about 20 minutes
  3. Roughly chop the onions, tomatoes and slit the green chillies and keep aside.
  4. Use an airtight thick bottom vessel or use your cooker for making biryani.
  5. Heat the ghee and little oil in the vessel and add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, Bay leaves, star anise and fennel seeds and saute for few second
  6. Add onions and chillies and cook till light brown and add mint leaves and then Ginger garlic paste to the vessel and cook for few minute
  7. Then add chopped tomatoes and cook till the tomatoes get mashed. Add salt, turmeric powder, mixed chilli powder and biryani masala and mix well.
  8. Now add curd and lemon juice and mix well. Then add the chicken and cook for 5 minute Add water measuring 1and 1/2 Cups of water for 1 cup of rice.
  9. Allow the water to boil and add the rice to the vessel. Once the water with rice started boil, add coriander leaves, mix well and close the vessel tight with the lid and put the weight if cooker.
  10. Simmer the stove and allow the contents to cook for about 10 minutes at slow fire. After switching off the stove allow the vessel on opened and sit for 15 more minute
  11. Now our delicious chicken biryani is ready to be served with onion raitha or any other side dish as you wish
