The Ingredients need to make Chicken Tahiri:
- It’s 3 cups of rice soaked for 30 minutes
- You need 4 cups of water
- It’s 500 g of chicken with bones
- It’s 3 of medium potatoes
- You need 4 of large tomatoes
- It’s 1 of large onion
- Prepare 3 of green chillies
- Prepare 1 tbsp of ginger garlic paste
- It’s 1 tbsp of salt
- You need 1 tbsp of red chilli powder
- Prepare 3/4 tbsp of turmeric
- Prepare 6 of cloves
- Prepare 8 of black peppercorns
- You need 2 of cinnamon sticks
- You need 1 tsp of zeera
- You need 2 of tez patta
- You need 3 of green cardamoms
- You need 3/4 cup of oil
Step to make Chicken Tahiri:
- In a pot add oil and fry onions until golden. Add cumin seeds and ginger garlic paste and chicken. Fry for 10 minutes until changes colour
- Add tomatoes, potatoes and all the mentioned powdered and whole spice
- Cook very well until oil starts separating.
- Add a little water and cover and cook until potatoes and chicken are tender
- Now pour over 4 cups water and add soaked rice to it.
- Add green chillies and cook for first 10 minutes on medium to high flame
- When water reduces and is about to evaporate completely then cover with a lid and cook on dum on very slow flame
- Mix well before serving
- Enjoy hot tahiri with raita and salad😍
