The Ingredients need to make Tomato Chutney South Indian style:
- Prepare 3 of medium sized tomatoes
- It’s 1 of medium sized onion
- You need 1 of medium size ginger
- You need 1 tbsp of Chana Dal
- It’s 2 Tbsp of Urad Dal
- You need 1/2 tsp of Rai
- Prepare Few springs of Curry leaves
- It’s 2 whole of Red chillies
- You need 1 Tbsp of tamarind soaked
- It’s 2 tbsp of hot water
- It’s 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder
- You need 2 Tbsp of oil
- Prepare As per taste of Salt
Step to make Tomato Chutney South Indian style:
- Chop roughly onions, tomatoes and ginger.
- In a wok heat 1 tbsp oil, add 1 tbsp Urad Dal, chana dal, whole red chilli and sauté. Add chopped onion, ginger and tomatoe Sauté for 1 min, add Red chilli powder, tamarind water(extract the seeds) and salt, stir and keep on low flame covered for 15 min
- Cool and puree. Pour onto a serving bowl.
- In a wok heat oil, add rai, curry leaves, Urad Dal and stir for few seconds, pour onto the Chutney and enjoy hot.
