The Ingredients need to make Aloha Cherries:
  1. Prepare 2 lb of cherub (grape) tomatoes, sliced lengthwise in half
  2. You need 1 large of Maui sweet onion sliced very thinly with a mandoline if you have one
  3. It’s 1/4 cup of cider vinegar
  4. You need 2 tbsp of brown sugar
  5. You need 1 1/2 tbsp of kosher salt
  6. Prepare 2 of cloves garlic minced
  7. You need 1 tsp of black pepper, fresh ground is best
  8. Prepare 4 small of whole dried Hawaiian chili peppers, ground (red pepper flakes can be used 1 1/2 T)
  9. It’s 3/4 cup of Avocado oil (olive oil works)
  10. It’s 2 tbsp of dry parsley, I grind it between my hands to break it up
  11. You need 1 1/2 tsp of thyme or herbs de provence (prefer the HDP)
Step to make Aloha Cherries:
  1. Grind your chilies
  2. Mince your garlic…. you can use granulated garlic (3tsp) instead.
  3. Put your spices, salt, sugar, vinegar, and oil in a bowl and whisk together well. Set aside, this is your marinade.
  4. Slice your tomatoes lengthwise and place in a large bowl.
  5. Slice your onion as thinly as possible and add to the bowl with your tomatoe
  6. Whisk your marinade well again and pour it over top of your onion/tomato mix.
  7. Very lightly toss your Aloha Cherrie
  8. Allow your amazing Aloha Cherries to marinate at least a few hours for best flavor. Overnight is even better.
  9. Your friends will love it if you serve this with some bocconcini, bite sized mozzarella balls! If you do tho remember to put them in no more than half hour before you serve. They will get slimy.
