The Ingredients needed to make Indian Lavash:
- Prepare 1 cup of Whole-wheat flour
- Prepare 1 cup of Oats flour
- You need 1 teaspoon of instant dry Yeast
- Prepare 1/4 th cup of warm Milk+ more to brush before baking
- Prepare 2 tablespoons of Ghee
- You need 1 teaspoon of Sugar
- It’s 1/2 teaspoon of Salt
- It’s 1/2 teaspoon of Chilli flakes
- You need 1/2 teaspoon of Kasuri methi
- Prepare 1/2 teaspoon of crushed Coriander seeds
- It’s 1/4 th teaspoon of crushed Black pepper
- You need As Required of Warm water as needed to make the dough
- Prepare For of topping–
- It’s 1 tablespoon of white Sesame seeds (roasted)
- It’s 1 tablespoon of Black seeds
- It’s 1 tablespoon of Flax seeds
Step to make Indian Lavash:
- In a big mixing bowl, mix together whole wheat flour, oats flour, sugar salt, chilli flakes, kasuri methi, crushed coriander seeds and ceushed black pepper
- Add in 1 teaspoon of instant dry yeast and mix.
- Pour in warm milk and mix together with your finger tip
- Now with the help of warm water make a soft dough.
- Add in soft ghee, mix and knead again to make a smooth soft dough.
- Rub some oil or gheeover the dough, cover and set aside for an hour or two so that the dough becomes double in size.
- When the dough becomes double in size, take out and punch it to remove air from the dough.
- Knead again for 5-6 minutes and divide the dough into 3 part
- Take one part and roll into a thin rectangular sheet.
- With a fork prick the sheet several times so that the bread will not puff up while baking.
- Prepare a baking tray with lining.Preheat oven for 10 minutes at 180 degree C.
- With a sharp knife, cut the sheet into several long triangle This is the authentic shape of lavash.
- Place them to the baking tray. Put little gap between each lavash to ease the baking procesBrush them with milk.
- Sprinkle lots of sesame seeds, black seeds and flax seed
- Bake them in preheated oven for 12-13 minutes or until sides of the lavash become light golden brown.
- Let them cool completely on the tray. At first they may be little soft to touch. But they will be crisp after cooling. After cooling if you feel that the lavash are not crisp as you desires, bake them.again in the oven for 10 minutes at 130 degree C. Dont preheat the oven before 2nd baking.
- Store them in airtight container and enjoy whenever you like with any type of dip or even with youghrt.
