The Ingredients need to make Low fat Shahi Paneer:
  1. Prepare 200 gms of paneer cut into cubes
  2. You need 4 of tomatoes medium
  3. Prepare 1 of onion medium
  4. You need 2 tbsps of ginger paste
  5. Prepare 2 of green chillies small
  6. You need 1/2 cup of makhane (lotus seeds)
  7. You need 1 tbsp of cashewnut broken
  8. It’s 1/2 cup of milk cashews to soak makhane and
  9. Prepare 3 - 4 pods of Star Anise cinnamon cardamom whole spices- , stick, green
  10. You need 1 tsp of jeera
  11. It’s 1/2 tsp of chilly red powder (to taste)
  12. It’s 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
  13. You need 1 tsp of Kasuri methi (dried methi powder)
  14. It’s to taste of Salt
  15. It’s 1 tsp of garam masala
  16. Prepare of Water (as needed)
  17. It’s 2 tbsps of ghee (can reduce as per your need)
Step to make Low fat Shahi Paneer:
  1. Grind tomatoes, onion, ginger and green chillies into puree
  2. Heat ghee in kadhai, add all whole spices, jeera, and tomato puree
  3. Cook it at low flame until ghee separates
  4. Add Kasuri methi
  5. Remove the whole spices and if needed can puree the gravy further to make it smooth
  6. Soak makhane and cashews in warm milk for 15 mins and grind into paste
  7. Add in the gravy stirring it. Add salt and cook it for 10 mind at low flame stirring it frequently to avoid the gravy sticking to the bottom. Add water in order to maintain medium consistency.
  8. Add paneer cubes and cook for another 5 mins
  9. Serve with parathas, naan or chapati
