Gizdodo is a simple side dish that is often served with rice; especially Jollof rice. It is easy to deduce from the name that this meal will be basically made of gizzards and ripe plantain. Hence Gizdodo (Gizzard Dodo) and we all know that dodo is just another name for ripe plantain.

This is one of those recipes invented from excesses or in order to reduce food wastage. If youve read through my older posts, youll know that I love plantains…. a lot. So you bet I also love Dodo gizzards☺.

The Ingredients need to make Gizz-dodo:

2. You need of Plantain, curry, thyme, spring onions, green pepper

Oil Sliced onions Sliced red pepper Sliced green pepper Chopped Scotch bonnet Chopped Tomatoe Giz Dodo is a dish that is somewhat synonymous with parties and celebrations in Nigeria. Today, I am re-defining Giz Dodo. Gizzard Dodo (Plantain) = Taste-bud Explosion.

Step to make Gizz-dodo:

1. Dice the plantain and gizzard, blend the red pepper, onions, tatashe and tomatoes to form a pepper mix,
2. Boil the gizzard before frying it and the plantain, put and empty pot on heat, add groundnut oil, add sliced onions, let it fry, then add the pepper mix, let it fry, then add the curry and thyme and the seasoning cube, salt. Then add the fried plantain and gizzard, let it cook, then add the green pepper, spring onion, cover and turn down heat for 3min Then drop from heat.

This meal is the proper combination of Gizzard, Plantain and delicious peppered Stew. Note: We only ship on Mondays and Tuesdays only; therefore orders placed from Wednesday to Sunday would be shipped out on Monday Tuesday. Dodo gizzard is simply a combination of plantain and gizzard in tasty, flavorful tomato sauce.
