Delicious soft kozhukattai recipe made using raw rice. It is so easy to make and so delicious to eat. Take raw rice in a blender and powder it coarsely.

The Ingredients needed to make Kara kozhukattai (rice balls):
  1. It’s 1 cup of rice flour
  2. Prepare 1 cup of water
  3. Prepare 1 tsp of urad daal
  4. You need 1 tsp of chana dal
  5. It’s 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste
  6. Prepare 1 of onion chopped
  7. It’s 1 of tomato chopped
  8. You need 2 of green chillies chopped
  9. You need leaves of some curry
  10. You need 1 tsp of mustard seeds
  11. Prepare 1 tsp of jeera seeds
  12. It’s 1 tsp of chilli powder
  13. It’s 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder
  14. It’s to taste of Salt
  15. Prepare 1 tsp of ghee
  16. Prepare 4 tsp of oil
  17. Prepare 1 cup of grated coconut
  18. It’s of some coriander leaves for garnishing
  19. Prepare 4 tsp of lemon juice
  20. You need 2 of red dry chillies

Add in curry leaves, asafoetida and green chillie Kara Kozhukattai, also known as Uppu Kolukattai is a spicy rice dumpling usually made during vinayaga chaturti but can also can be had any day as a snack with a cup of tea. Step to make Kara kozhukattai (rice balls):
  1. In a pan put 1 cup water and let it boil then add salt and one tablespoon ghee and add rice flour slowly and mix continuously undercover it for 5 minutes then knead the dough with the help of oil. Knead the dough smoothly and keep aside.
  2. Take the dough and prepare the small balls and steam for 20 minutes and keep aside for 5 min
  3. Take all the ingredients in the plate and keep aside.
  4. In a pan put oil and heat it then add mustard seeds, jeera,urad daal, chana dal, curry leaves red dry chilli, fry for 1 minute then add onion, ginger garlic paste on tomatoes and Fry for 2 minutes the tomato are smooth and soft then add turmeric powder red chilli powder and salt and mix well then add coconut free for 1 minutes and last we can add steamed rice balls and mix gently cover and cook for 5 minute
  5. Kara kozhukattai is ready and garnish with grated coconut and coriander leave
