Andhra chicken Curry - Murgh curry with rich gravy.. This was so good with the seasonings I used. Use the seasonings your family like and Im sure it will be just as good.
Charoli is the name for the seeds of the Buchanania lanzan plant.
Charoli is commonly identified with food from the state of Maharashtra, which spans western and central India.
The seeds are harvested by the states tribal population, for whom they are a source of income.
The Ingredients need to make Gravy chicken with splash of charoli seeds:
- It’s 1 kg of Fresh chicken
- It’s 1 cup of Curd
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of Kasuri methi dry roasted
- It’s 1 tsp of Salt
- Prepare 1 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
- Prepare 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste
- You need 2 of green chilies
- It’s 1 of lime juice
- It’s As per taste of freshly ground garam masala powder
- Prepare handful of Coriander few mint leaves for garnishing
- It’s As required of Ghee or oil for cooking
- Prepare Dash of orange red food color
- It’s 1 of medium size onion fried golden brown
- You need For of paste
- Prepare handful of dry roast of cashews Charoli seeds
- It’s 1 tsp of desiccated coconut powder
The best part is that it works with any baked/roasted meat/poultry.
As long as you can catch the drippings, you can make an awesome gravy.
I had roasted my chicken with Bag N Season and it made the best drippings and gravy.
It was so easy I couldnt believe it.
Step to make Gravy chicken with splash of charoli seeds:
- Firstly make a fine paste of roasted ingredients and blend it well set aside.
- Wash the chicken drain the water from it completely.
- Fry the onion remove it, in the same oil or ghee add in the chicken, ginger, garlic, green chili’s sauté for few minute
- Then add in the fried onions the paste prepared of nuts fry well and keep stirring making sure it doesn’t stick to the bottom so better use a nonstick wok to cook.
- Add in the whisked curd so that it won’t curdle while cooking then add in the left spices mix well fry till the oil separates then add the food color.
- Now add in the lime juice, coriander mint leaves splash of Garam masala powder then add only a cup of water then cover the lid for 5-10 minutes on a low burner.
- Then uncover the lid taste all the spices accordingly but keeps he gray medium towards thick consistency only don’t add more water it’s ready to serve it hot with tandoori naan or flavored rice like Kashmiri pulao as I posted the recipe in my previous posts do check if you guys want to try or jeera rice.
