The Ingredients needed to make Pfeffernusse Pound Cake:
  1. Prepare 1/2 lb of butter (2 sticks) room temp
  2. It’s 1/2 cup of vegetable shortening (room temp)
  3. You need 3 cups of sugar
  4. You need 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  5. You need 5 of eggs (room temp)
  6. Prepare 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  7. Prepare 1 cup of milk
  8. It’s 1/2 cup of molasses
  9. You need 1/4 cup of honey
  10. It’s 1 1/2 tsp of cardomon
  11. You need 1 tsp of nutmeg
  12. You need 1 tsp of cloves
  13. It’s 1 tsp of ginger
  14. Prepare 2 tsp of anise extract
  15. Prepare 2 tsp of cinnamon
  16. Prepare 1 tsp of pepper
  17. It’s 1/2 tsp of salt
  18. You need 1/2 tsp of baking powder
  19. You need 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  20. It’s of Powdered sugar
Step to make Pfeffernusse Pound Cake:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degree Grease and flour bundt or spring form pan.
  2. With mixer cream butter and shortening together. Add sugar and brown sugar a little at a time. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
  3. Stir dry ingredients together in a separate bowl (flour, cardomon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, pepper, salt and baking powder). Add to butter mixture alternating with milk.
  4. Add in molasses, honey, anise and vanilla extract
  5. Pour batter into greased and floured tube/bundt pan. Bake for 1 - 1 1/2 hours until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. When cooled remove from pan and dust with powered sugar.
  7. Enjoy!
