The Ingredients needed to make Basa Fish Curry (Kerala Style):
  1. You need 6-7 Pieces of Basa Fish Fillet
  2. It’s 2 tbsp of Coconut Oil
  3. You need 1/2 tsp of Mustard Seeds
  4. Prepare 1-2 of Green Chillies
  5. You need 1 Sprig of Curry Leaves
  6. Prepare 1 of Onion (Chopped)
  7. It’s 1 tbsp of Ginger Garlic Paste
  8. You need 1/4 tsp of Methi Powder
  9. It’s 1/4 tsp of Turmeric Powder
  10. It’s 2 tbsp of Red Kashmiri Chilli Powder
  11. You need 3 tbsp of Coriander Powder
  12. It’s to taste of Salt
  13. It’s 2 of small Pieces Fish Tamarind
  14. Prepare as needed of Hot Water
Step to make Basa Fish Curry (Kerala Style):
  1. Wash the fish nicely. Add salt. Mix well and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a cooking pan. Add mustard seeds and allow it to crackle.
  3. Add green chillies, curry leaves and onions and saute till the onions are translucent.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell leave
  5. Add turmeric powder, methi powder, chilli powder and coriander powder and saute for a minute or two.
  6. Add hot water and let it come to a boil. When boiling, add fish and tamarind.
  7. Cover and cook on low flame till the fish is cooked.
  8. Serve hot with rice, roti, dosa etc.
