The Ingredients needed to make Easter Koulourakia from Smyrna:
  1. Prepare 1 kg of (approximately) soft flour
  2. You need 250 g of margarine
  3. Prepare 250 g of butter
  4. You need 1 of egg
  5. It’s 1 cup of orange juice
  6. It’s 350 g of sugar
  7. Prepare 30 ml of brandy
  8. Prepare 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla powder or extract
  9. It’s 1 teaspoon of (full) baking powder
  10. You need 1/2 cup of olive oil
  11. You need 1-2 of eggs to brush the top of the cookies
Step to make Easter Koulourakia from Smyrna:
  1. Beat the butter and margarine with the sugar using a mixer. These should be at room temperature. If you wish you may melt the butter/margarine and beat the mixture with a whisk.
  2. Add the egg and then all the liquids (orange juice, brandy, olive oil).
  3. Add the vanilla and flour with the baking powder bit by bit.
  4. Knead until you get a soft and pliable dough and form into cookie
