Its an easy cornbread dressing recipe perfect for Thanksgiving Dinner or any time. I know there are zillions of stuffing or dressing recipes out there but we are a traditionalist kind of people Do not overcook or dressing will dry out.

The Ingredients needed to make Old Fashioned Cornbread Dressing:
  1. You need of Getting ready
  2. It’s 2 cup of boiled chicken, save borth from chicken.
  3. It’s 1/2 cup of broiled liver , (u can leave out if u want).boil w / chicken. take liver out when done , chicken will boil longer then
  4. Prepare 1 packages of of crackers, crushed

  7. You need 4 large of boiled eggs,
  8. It’s of Vegetables
  9. It’s 3/4 cup of white onion diced small.
  10. It’s 3/4 cup of green bell pepper, diced small
  11. Prepare 3/4 cup of celery , diced small..
  12. Prepare 3/4 cup of green onionchopped small
  13. Prepare of Seasonings
  14. It’s 1 tbsp of Black pepper
  15. You need 1 tsp of salt
  16. It’s 1 tbsp of sage
  17. Prepare 1/2 stick of butter

Back when my mother was still alive and doing the honors every Thanksgiving, she always seemed to fret about whether or not the dressing had enough sage. If anything could be more Southern than fried chicken, its cornbread dressing. Once passed down from grandmother to mother to daughter, this lovely, old-fashioned tradition is becoming a lost art. Real dressing can be intimidating and does take a little trial and error, but the smile.

  5. put the vegetables that you suate a into the cornbread mix, now add season, and green onions into all ingredients, should be all together ,now add chicken broth not too wet , moistsave remaining chicken broth, for later on.
  6. preheat your oven at 400
  7. now combine all ingredients into the pan , in Turkey baking pan . cook until golden brown, should take about 40 minutes
  8. now were done ready for good eating.

Add celery, onion, sage, salt and pepper and mix well. I grew up on this cornbread dressing. There was never a Thanksgiving without it, and Its the real, old-fashioned dressing.
